Cannon Beach

We went to Cannon Beach last week 24th-27th. It was so nice to have some family time. Norah liked the sand but only got to play in it once since it was pretty cold and windy most of our trip. We had fun walking around town, walking on the beach and exploring Haystack Rock, and just relaxing in our great room! Norah was a doll during the day. No meltdowns at all, during the day. At night, well, we're still working on getting her to sleep through the night again.

Unknown Followers?

Sooo for those of you we actually know that read this blog... I have to ask, who the heck are all the other people? I understand that our blog can be viewed by anyone, and I have the option of blocking people or making it private, but seriously? I seem to be blocking several new 'followers' each week. People that I don't know, have no idea how they found our blog, and can't trace or track them to anyone I do know! What's the motivation for following a personal blog of someone you don't know? Well, other than the fact that we have the cutiest baby ever and who wouldn't want to see pictures of her all the time, but other than that.....
Should I let these people follow? Should it really matter?

7 months

We got Norah a highchair on Wednesday. We were using one my sister bought for the grandparents house, but it just wasn't a good fit. This is a space saver chair, goes right on one of our chairs and will also convert to a booster seat. Norah seems to like it :)
She has recently started to touch things with just the index finger of her left hand. Sometimes she will hold a toy in her right and and inspecting with her left finger, too cute.
She is also getting much harder to photograph! I usually take her picture in this chair, but not today! She was much to wiggly.
It was a beautiful day today so we sat in the grass for a little while. Norah pulled up some grass, but mostly she just stared at the dog who was sitting near by. Last Saturday she figured out how to sit up by herself. Now it's all she does, even when napping. She fell asleep sitting in her crib and I had to lay her down! Last night we decided she was sleep sitting, moving around a bunch and whinning but not actually waking up. Guess she's going to be like daddy in that way too! (He used to sleep walk a lot)

This last month has been pretty hard since she decided to stop sleeping through the night. Ugh. We've been working on eating more solids during the day and it's been hit or miss so far. There are a few things she doesn't care for, pears, squash, and several things she really likes, apples, carrots.....and a few combo foods. We're now up to eating (or trying to eat) solids three times a day. It seems to be helping her sleep longer, last night she went to bed about 9:30pm and only woke up at 3am and 6am. Sigh. Overall she is a wonderful happy and healthy baby! But we do miss sleeping through the night.....

Apples

So we started Norah on fruits a few days ago. Pears were first on the menu, and she wasn't too interested. We tried for three days. She would take a few bites, then loose interest. The other day I was eating an apple, sliced in wedges. She was very interested in my food! So I let her lick a slice. MMMmmmm that was tasty!

Since that was so good, we figured she would like one of her own! She finally figured out what those teeth are for UhOhh! No worries, we didn't let her bite any chuncks off. Yes, we did try applesauce after this, it was a hit!

Fun in the grass

Sunday 2/21, was a beautiful sunny day! We decided to see if Norah likes grass. Some babies in our extended family....coughEvolycoughcough.....HATED grass :)

She likes it!

Solids!

Saturday 2/20 we gave Norah her first taste of solid foods. She was ready for them a while ago, but we wanted to wait for George to be home. She had rice cereal with some mommy milk mixed in. It was, well, rather uneventful! She didn't really make any funny faces or put up much protest. She managed to swallow some of it, and get it all over her face :)

She also liked to bite the spoon!

Daddy came Home!

George was home from his Army training class on 2/19, super late at night. Since Norah has decided to wake up and eat at night now, George picked her up and handed her over to me at about 1am.....I fed her and passed her back to him to put in her crib. She was soooo sleepy, but soon realized it wasn't Mommy holding her! Her eyes got really big and she just stared at Daddy for a good 10 minutes, soooo cute. He did finally get her to go back to sleep, but she was full of smiles for him in the morning. It's so nice to have our family back together :)
