Thank you!

Okay so it's taken me a few days to get to the birthday stuff, but hey, I'm growing something over here give me a break!
I received a bunch of e-cards that were very cute, thank you!

We had dinner at home with a bunch of family, my parents, sister and hubby, brother, grandma, Tim, Livvy and boys. We missed Laurie :( Hopefully you are feeling better by now!
We had really yummy chicken bisque soup, homemade rolls, and angel food cake with cherries.
George did a good job bargaining with Tristan to eat his soup while Tim was taking Livvy to work. He got Tristan to eat almost all of it just so he could have some juice! It was cute.
I got some wonderful presents! First of course, IT SNOWED! Yay! Super awesome and generous gifts included: A future trip to Saint Cupcake! A beautiful handpainted dish that I want to hang on the wall, need to get a dish hanger though. Some gardening gloves and spending money (I already spent some!). A pile of scratch its tickets :) I won $8! A special knife for dividing dahlia tubers, and ink pencil for writing on them, and a new dahlia, one that has huge (11") blooms! A new bottle of mango mandarin lotion that I've been hinting at ;) and another huge dahlia with red and yellow blooms! Whew!! Thank you Thank you all again!!
While I was opening things the boys, George/Galen/Julian/Tristan, were playing with the paper and making armor out of it, it was so funny! We were all suprised at how well Julian took to my brother in law Galen, playing with him, jumping on him, sitting in his lap etc, it was like having two Uncle Georges!
All in all it was a great day and fun to have everyone together. I was so tired the next day! And I still haven't cleaned up all the paper because the kitties are having fun playing with it now.

1/4 of the way there!

So yeah, 10 weeks now, yay :) Other than being tired all the time, and having no appetite, I'm doing well. I actually lost 3lbs in the last week. I'm sure I'll start gaining soon but I thought that was interesting. I have my first appointment with my OB on Thursday so I'll get the blood tests back and the official reading of the ultrasound and all that stuff.
So here's what parents.com has to say about week 10:
The embryo reaches a developmental milestone at the end of this week--it has achieved its basic structural form, and will be known as a fetus (Latin for "offspring") from now until it reaches full term. Because the fetus is still curled up in a snug position in the uterus, it's hard to measure an exact length including the legs. For this reason, health professionals use the crown-to-rump measurement, or the distance from the top of the head to the buttocks. Your baby's crown-to-rump length is now about 1 1/4 inches, and he/she weighs less than half an ounce.

Tonight George and I are going to babysit Kaylee! Jamie and Galen are going out for their first dinner date since she arrived in Dec. They have about a 3hr window between feedings, but that should be plenty of time for driving/eating. Hurray for cute squishy babies!

Violets blooming

I have three pretty afrian violets :) I used to have them on my desk at work. The first two hadn't bloomed in so long I forgot what color the flowers were! The first one I got from a work lunch maybe two years ago, and that was the last time it bloomed, until now! It started around Thanksgiving and is still going. The second one George got me last September, again the last time it was blooming. It started blooming just before Christmas! The third one I have had for maybe four or five years, and it bloomed maybe three times. Well, it's been blooming non stop since the begining of November! I think they were unhappy living in an office too :) and like being at home much better!

I'm feeling good so far. No morning sickness, a few queezy moments but not bad. Just don't get those wintergreen lifesavers near me, ick! Oh and I'm tired, all the time. I can sleep 12hrs at night and still take a 3hr nap during the day! Hopefully I will get some energy back in the next few weeks. No we don't have names yet, and no we don't know if it's a boy or girl. Have to be
18-20weeks to find that out, yes we are planning to if we can.

One month old!

Yay! Kaylee is one month old today!
We had a little family brunch today with Jamie/Galen, my brother Allen, and my Grandma. And of course my parents. Just a little get together to visit, squish the baby etc. We had yummy food and I made another batch of cinnamon rolls which turned out really good, cream cheese icing....mmmmmm. Sadly, George has drill this weekend so he wasn't here. pout. But there's plenty of leftover yummy food :)

Something....

Umm so I need to post something......all the snow is gone. I only got about a third of my dahlias dug before the icy weather hit, so I'm hoping some of the ones still in the ground survive the winter. I was planning to dig up all 100+ plant and divide the tubers to sell. As it is, I dug about 45 plants. So I'll have a bunch of tubers, 8-10 from each plant, just not as many as I was planning on....
Ahhhhh...I went to see my horse today, but they were super naughty so I just ended up cleaning poo instead. A tree fell across the arena fence a couple days ago and today they finally decided it wasn't scary anymore, so they got out. This was before I got there. The gaits were open since they horses were supposed to be lock in. Marilee came down to feed and there were three horses missing! She got in the car and went down the driveway looking for them, and they decided to be afraid of the car and ran away from her....all the way to the road. She was able to get them back in the gait but they wouldn't follow her back to the barn. The whole ordeal took her about an hour to resolve, and I got there about 5 mins after she got back to the house. So yeah, we didn't try to catch them, just cleaned up the barn.
There, I updated something...

Again?

Yes that's right, it snowed again! We had huge rain showers all day yesterday, and I do mean all day. We were wondering if it would ever let up, well it did! And it turned to snow! I got up around 5am to feed the annoying cat and had to do a double take out the window, yup, it snowed! We have about an inch here, but the roads are fine. The sky is clear now and pretty blue, so it will probably all be gone by tonight.

Power of Positive Thinking

Okay you people, I have decided that 2009 is going to be a great year, you are welcome to join me. I'm thinking positive things about this year, it will be good because I have decided to make sure it is. We had many trials last year, work and family to name a few, but we have much to look forward to this year. We have a beautiful new niece to snuggle and spoil! George is closer to finishing school! We have a warm home, we never go hungry, we have money to pay our bills, we are healthy, we have friends and family. Sometimes we need to remember these basics.
So again, you are all welcome to join me in my positive thinking for 2009, so you too will know that it is going to be a great year :)

Snuggles!

George and I went over to Jamie and Galen's today to visit and watch a movie.

I got to snuggle with Kaylee for two hours or so :) Super Cute!

Happy New Year!

Well, we stayed up to ring in the new year. We had some chinese take out and pie for dinner, yummy. Watched some of the dumb tv stuff with the really annoying hosts, although I read til 11:30 or so. Then at midnight we watched some fireworks from the deck, George lit a few too :) and everyone was in bed by 12:30. Boring to some maybe, but we enjoyed it.
And I know 2009 is going to be a great year!
