24 weeks, month six!

Things are good! We're into month six already and for the most part I'm feeling good. I'm having some ligament pain which is uncomfortable but common. It makes it difficult to jog/run so I'm down to walking only. Also some back pain at night, also common. Ummm I like food again, so that's nice....I've been eating a lot of mangos. They are yummy. And I've gained a whopping 4lbs since my lowest weight at the begining of March. I'm expecting we will start packing it on as we get closer to the third trimester. Norah has been getting really good at the kicking/rolling weird movements the last two weeks. Oh and she's stretched a few times, that was strange. In the last few days I've had a couple of what I'm guessing are Braxton-Hicks contractions. Just one or two at night, not painful, just a strange tightening sensation in my lower abdomen. My OB appt was moved to Thursday 30th, so no updates from there yet.

Tulip Festival!

Yesterday I went to the Tulip Festival with Tim, Livvy, and the boys. We had such a great time! It was sunny and warm, and there was so much to do. The boys had so much fun playing on the slides, swings, ducks, and wagon rides. The flowers were so beautiful, it was unreal! I loaded all the pictures on picasa :)

Okay are you ready?

So George and I have been calling her by name for a while now, and it's getting hard not to say it in front of people, so.....

Oh right, disclaimer incase she totally hates her name later, George picked it.

22 weeks

The ultrasound went well today. She is still measuring small but with good growth since the last exam. The specialist I was supposed to see was stuck in traffic and having car problems so he is going to call me after he has a chance to review the report. The tech that did the ultrasound and the nurse both thought everything looked great, she's just tiny!

** So I just got a message from the specialist doc, stupid phone went right to voice mail instead of ringing!!!! He said the pictures look great and he's very happy with them, so all is good! My doctor will review the full report with me at my next appt on the 27th.

Hey, it hasn't been a week yet...

So we had a fun Easter over here. Lots of family came over for Easter brunch, although it was at 9am so does that make it breakfast? We had yummy foood, creamy cheese blintzes with fruit toppings, eggs with sausage, hashbrowns, bacon, pineapple and fresh strawberries. It was great! Then everyone left and we all went into a food coma. I forgot to take pictures which I'm kinda bummed about.

In other news, last week I did a bunch of yard stuff. I planted more strawberries, trimed more roses (and I'm still not done!) and I was so sore the next day it was horrible! I'm sure it was a combination of out of shape, loose joints and extra stretchy ligaments/tendons (thanks pregnancy...) Boy did my legs hurt! And for several days. It was that great feeling of -I need to lower myself with my arms to a sitting position and wince as the pressure increased on my legs... Yeah, it was that good. For several days. I'm in for it again really soon. The weather here is finally starting to improve, what does that mean? Yup, more yard/garden work. My flower beds are all ready to be planted. I need to start dividing my dahlia tubers soon, and then the mosterous task of planting them. Several hundred of them. Ouch.

Exciting farm updates, the 'shares' for this season are almost sold out which is great! Also, my Dad and brother have been working on building two hoop houses this last week. Saturday George and I helped get the plastic up on the second one, now they are ready to go! Dad is out there tilling the first one right now. Since they are hoop houses there are no tables or shelves, you plant directly in the ground. They are covered, so they are warmer then just being outside and offer protection from the weather which allows Mom to get plants started earlier and continue later in the season then would be possible otherwise. He is a pic of them getting the plastic on the first one. You can also see the planting beds and all the green weeds growing in the paths!

In baby news. She is getting stronger! I am frequently surprised by a strong kick or some weird rolling turning thing she is doing. Usually she will wiggle when I first get in bed. George has claimed this time for getting to feel her move, it's cute. Last night she didn't do much so he started jiggling my belly to try and get her to do something, not so much fun! Usually we can mush around the belly and figure out where she is laying, that's kinda cool :) Tomorrow morning is my next ultrasound and consult with the perinatologist to be sure she is growing enough. Since I can feel how much more active she has become in the last two weeks, I'm sure she is just fine. And hey, if she wants to be 6-7lbs at birth instead of 8-9 I'm okay with that! In regards to her name, yes we picked one. We're not quite ready to tell yet, but soon.

21 weeks! :)

WooHoo! Still feeling good, and I actually gained a pound this last week! Might have something to do with the appetite I’ve found recently. Noteworthy example: Sunday we went out to breakfast for my Mom’s birthday. I had a scrambled egg, two pieces of bacon and a strawberry crepe. Granted it was probably the smallest plate of food since everyone else had omelets and hashbrowns etc, and I was the first one to get my order…BUT- I finished eating first!! Wow. That has never happened. Thanks baby! I have always been a slow eater, painfully slow as a child, but hey I was hungry!

I would also like to take a moment to thank my jeans for their years of service, and bid farewell until we meet again (hopefully this fall). I finally decided they were too snug on the belly, I’m sure baby thought so too. So I gave in and bought two more pairs of stretchy belly pants. Now my belly is happy, and getting round. I also have a few new shirts, but I’m still trying to wear my old ones as much as possible, it’s not working so well. Sigh.

The best for last! Baby is usually pretty active when I first lay down at night. This is when I get the most kicks, well, most that I feel. Two nights ago George went to bed before me, and guess what? She decided it was time to go bonkers. He was snoring and dead to the world which was too bad because I have never felt her kick/move so much! She went on for probably 10mins too. I was hoping she would do it again last night, but being as she is a child and it is her job to prove me wrong, she didn’t move much at all. Except for the two good kicks that her Daddy felt!!!!!! YAY!

Cute Kitty

You know you want some

Kaylee visiting day

Do they still make them?

The crunchy M&M's? I was reading archives from a blog back to 2004 and she said something about eating tons of crunchy M&M's during her pregnancy. Yeah, so guess what I really really want now. Uh huh. I remember the came out about my senior year 2001. I looked for some today but no luck. Although they have peanut butter, almond, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, peanut, but no crunchy. I'm thinking they stopped making them....I guess I'll have to google it.
