Five Months (with pictures!)

Our baby is Five months old today!
I'm not sure where to start with the things she can do now. How about the most recent, SHE HAS TEETH! Yes people not just a tooth, teeth! Two! A few days ago while visiting Nana we found a little point poking out of her bottom gums. Now you can feel and see both of her bottom front teeth. I had no idea she was teething already, she hasn't really been cranky or upset thank goodness. I gave her a frozen teething ring a few days ago while we were hanging out at Auntie Jamie's playing with Kaylee. She really liked that ring! But so did Kaylee :) We had to rotate three of them between the two girls so Norah could have one, and Kaylee could have one for each hand.
It's getting pretty easy to make Norah laugh now. We have a Jumperoo on loan from Kaylee. This weekend we got it all cleaned up and put it up for a trial run. She loves it! No jumping yet obviously, but she really likes playing in it. Since she likes standing and sitting up better than lying down, the jumperoo lets her be upright with out Mommy's arms getting tired. We got a video of George playing with Norah the first time she tried out the jumperoo.

Toys are becoming much more interesting now too. She's starting to pass toys hand to hand, or hold a toy in one hand and feel the different parts of it with her other hand, and then it goes in the mouth of course. She stuffs just about everything in her mouth. There are also all kinds of interesting sounds and noises to be made now. She still likes to shreek like she did on the last video, but the new favorite is the gurgle. While lying on her back she makes a gahoo sound until she gets enough spit built up, then she gurgles. It's so cute!

Rolling, Norah is a rolling fool! About a week ago she finally figured out how to roll from her tummy to back again. Now she can roll and roll and roll, it's pretty normal to find her several feet from where you put her down. She can also roll over toys which is pretty funny to watch. Rolling however, has provided some difficulties, and a little trauma drama. Friday night we learned just how fast she can roll. That's right people........Our baby rolled off the bed. It was awful. She's fine. I'm not. Like I said, it was awful. I don't think I will ever forget the sound of that thud. She was wiggling on the bed before her bath and George and I were both right there. George was looking for a washcloth or something in the laundry basket and couldn't find it. So I got up off the bed, walked around to the foot of the bed to help him look, and THUD! She rolled at least three times in about two seconds and off the bed she went! I cried a lot more then she did. She cried for a few minutes, then had her bath, nursed and went right to bed no problem. What a hard night!

Yesterday George and I went to see Avatar in 3D at Cinetopia. It was awesome! Grandma and Grandpa babysat Norah. We learned that although she will take a bottle just fine, it has to be milk that is refridgerated only, she does not like the milk that has been frozen at all!
This month we're thinking she's going to start trying to sit up by herself. She's been holding her head up off the seat when in her carseat and the bath. I guess just because she can? It doesn't look very comfortable! Crawling is also coming soon. When on her tummy she will pull her legs under her and sometimes she gets a little leverage and pushes herself forward a little.

I'm sure there is a lot more I've left out, but this is getting longer then George will read so I'll stop!

I am sorry you cried when she fell, I do remember that with us too! If Norah never falls off anything again, you will be the most amazing parents I have ever seen! Elaine really did fall a lot! Onto a hard wood floor! She is fine! :)
So glad things are going well.

(remember I have lots of girls east of the Rockies :-P OH I couldn't get the video to play ... maybe next time -- bring her over more often, 'K or I could come up there a few more times than I do!
