Before and After, the fate of a yummy pie...

I picked up a flat of raspberries on Friday from BiZi farms on 119th. Not bad prices $13.95 for a full flat. I've been buying them by the half pint at the grocery store for $2.99 ugh. Yesterday George helped me make a pie! I'm not so good at making pie crust, but with help this one turned out nice and flakey.

This morning however.....well, four people can make a pie disappear in less than 24 hours!

****

Fresh Raspberry Pie

2 cups raspberries

1 cup water

1 cup sugar

4 tbsp cornstarch

1 baked pie shell

Put one cup raspberries and water in pan. Blend sugar and cornstarch, add to raspberries. Cook until thick and clear. Spread remaining raspberries on bottom of cooked pie shell. Pour cooked filling over berries and chill until set. Yummy when topped with whipped cream!

8 months

Yup, 32 weeks! Appointment today went really well. We had another ultrasound today because they found a 'spot' in her stomach at the last ultrasound and wanted to check on it. Turns out it was nothing, she probably just swallowed something but everything looks normal now. She's still measuring small, no surprise there, she's in the 34% now. Her growth has been constant though so the Dr said everything looks good.
I'm doing pretty good. I've been tired this last week since we were doing quite a bit with family and we started our CSA distributions. My hips are aching at night but it's managable. Bending isn't much fun, belly is really getting in the way. I'm gaining about 1 - 1.5lbs a week now, thank you oreos........ j/k... okay not really.
The ultrasound pics don't look like anything so I'm not going to post them sorry, but I'll get a belly pic up tonight.
Okay here you go:

And a bonus picture! They had the Empathy belly at class tonight:

Some assembly required

Guess what came today????

I was sooooo excited that both boxes came today! George came home from work and started right in putting these together :) He was really quick too! Less than two hours to get both the crib and rocker assembled. I love them both! The light finish matches the dressers we already have really well. And the rocker is really really comfortable. Notice the really light color of the fabric? Yeah, it didn't look that light in the pictures! I'm hoping Nana might have the time to make a cover....... Nana? Maybe? We love you!
We'll be 8 months tomorrow! Woohoo! We also have our next ultrasound and consult with the specialist tomorrow morning, so more baby pictures to come.

Funny Uncle George!

Jamie and Galen came over last night for Father's Day dinner. Kaylee had been a pill earlier in the day, but this was just too cute!

Ouchie

Wednesday morning I woke up at 5:30 with a horrible leg cramp. It's the first one I've had pregnancy wise so far, but I've read several things that say it's really common. It was in my right calf and it hurt so bad! I couldn't pull on my foot hard enough to straighten my leg so I had to jump out of bed so I could stand on it. I was standing next to the bed half bent over saying -owie owie owie! and George freaked out a little, once I managed to say -leg cramp! he relaxed and was asleep before I got back in bed! :) My calf muscle is still sore....

Diapers

I ordered cloth diapers and they finally got here today! Jamie has been using these with Kaylee and they work really well. I'm sure we will use disposables for the first few weeks and such, but I'm happy we won't be generating tons of garbage.
Larkin approves too. It only took her maybe two minutes to find these on the couch.

** I ordered from http://www.softclothbunz.com/ they have a rewards points system and free shipping if you spend enough :)

Who ordered the 3am wake up call?

So last night she woke me up kicking for the first time. I was having a crazy pregnancy dream that I was a barbie in a plastic bag floating in the ocean trying to get away from some pirates....yeah like I said crazy preggo dreams, and then I was a pregnant barbie and the baby was kicking my side, hard! You ever wake yourself up from a dream and have that fuzzy moment of -wait, is this real? Yes it was, well the kicking part :) she was rabbit kicking my left side with some good force behind it. Hopefully this won't be a regular thing now, I have a hard enough time sleeping through the night what with the peeing and the hip aching and all.

Today I have been so so so so tired. I didn't really do anything. Well, I showered. Otherwise I've been a couch potato all day. Norah on the other hand.....she's been a super kicking machine. She's been flipping around and changing positions all day.
So here's the 30 week pic-

Oh and yesterday I managed to paint my toes. It took about an hour....but I tried Emily's advice, basically I sat on the couch and pretzeled myself until I could reach my feet. I did a few toes at a time and every time I stopped and put my legs down Norah let me know what she thought of all the belly squishing. Anyhoo, don't mind my long long monkey toes, baby is doomed to have them too :)

30 weeks

How to sum up being 7.5 months, I'm slower now. Yeah, and it's frustrating. Oh right, and I can't really bend anymore. I'm just about done with socks. We went to Target over the weekend to do the registry stuff and I got two pairs of flipflops while we were there. Now I have a small collection to get me through the summer. Someone needs to paint my toes though. I managed to get the old grown out color off, again back to the bending issue, but I don't even want to attempt to paint ugh. I guess 30 weeks also equals lots of complaining, sorry!
We had our first labor/birth class tonight. Most of it was about anatomy and nutrition review but still interesting. AND we watched a video. Yup on the first night. George survived. At the end of class we were supposed to be doing breathing and relaxation stuff, but Norah kept whomping me so I was just trying not to laugh. It was a little suprising to learn everyones due dates. I was thinking we were maybe a little early in starting classes but this is the one that worked with George's schedule. Most of the other couples are due in Sept. There were maybe eight couples, one due in July, two- including us- due in Aug, and the rest were mid/late Sept.
And I'm sure you all are just reading this to get to the belly picture but you'll have to wait a day! George has the camera at work but promises to bring it home tomorrow. I'm round, but not too big, yet.

From the Garden

The nice weather has really helped the roses bloom. This is the third bouquet I've cut already, there are about two dozen in this vase!

New Moon Trailer

So I just watched the trailer for New Moon, it was good until the end. I mean the graphics are cool, but as soon as it was over all I could think was, wait that's not what happened!
Hopefully it's still going to be good. And I'll need a babysitter by the time it comes out! :)
