Cutie baby

Had my OB appt today. Ultrasound was first and everything looked good. I also had to do the glucose test, the drink wasn't too bad, like flat 7-up. I'll get the results from the blood work at my next appt unless there's something wrong. During the actual OB appt doc said Norah is in the 39th percentile and measuring about a week behind. Basically everything looks good, we're just making a tiny baby! Not sure if I'll have to do another ultrasound yet. My doc thinks not but the specialist gets to decide so we'll know some time next week.

A BIG clean mess.....

So I went out to the barn this morning, but before I left I threw in a load of laundry. I just went in to move it to the dryer and disaster has struck. The washer must have been off balance because the big econo size jug of liquid laundry soap that usually sits on the side of the washer was on the floor.....I mean all. over. the. floor. The fall must have busted the cap off. Now there's probably 15-20oz of liquid soap all over the floor and under the washer. UGH! Now comes the debate....it's under the washer, can't it just stay there? Do I really have to move the washer to clean soap out from under it?!? Granted I wouldn't be the one moving the washer but still! Ugh and what a waste of soap....

****ps- it wasn't too bad until the cat ran through it...
yeah, soapy sliding frantic cat running down the hall. Comical yes, but I had to catch her and wash her feet which she did not like, big suprise. Then there were nice soapy paw prints to mop up. I'm getting to the preggo point where I debate on picking things up off the floor, is it worth the bending to retrieve an item? Crawling around on tile moping wasn't in my plan today...

However, Mom had a good idea. The laundry room floor was mostly clean, so I'm just using my dirty clothes to mop up soap and wash them as I go. I'm starting to run out of things to wash, I'm done with clothing items and on to sheets and blankets!

Hellooooo 3rd Trimester!

Well, we're at 28 weeks now, so offically in the third trimester/month seven. My how time flies. The weight gain is on! I'm up 1.5lbs just in this last week yikes! Hopefully it's mostly Norah....might be that second helping of ice cream....Yes, I'm hungry, just about all the time. I started carrying granola bars in my purse so I wouldn't get stuck anywhere without something to munch on! Norah is very wiggly. Sometimes George and I just watch my belly dance, it's pretty funny. She hasn't done anything painful yet and she's staying below my ribs so far. I'm feeling pretty good overall. I'm sleeping with a bunch of pillows now, if you ask George it's 100 pillows, exactly 100. If I get up around 6:30-7am I'm usually pretty wiped by about 3 or 4pm. I'm accomplishing a little less outside every day since the belly is in the way. Although I did weed/trim about half of the turn-around in our driveway yesterday. It's starting to look nice again!
George is almost done with this quarter at PSU. Last week was pretty hard. He was attending a ASA conference all week and was leaving early and home really late. Glad that's over, but now it's finals time. He's very busy with work too. This was the first memorial weekend he didn't have to do any Army stuff, but he ended up going into work Sun and Mon at PSU just to catch up and study for finals.
My next OB appt is this Thursday. I'll be getting another ultrasound to check on her growth, so I should have some pictures to post soon.

Bark dust

So I finished planting dahlias a few days ago, yay! George put up all my bambo stakes and I got the twine up to make a little fence around the beds, just to keep the dogs and such out. Two days ago we (as in my parents) decided to go ahead and get barkdust to spruce up the front yard and to use in a bunch of our paths for the garden to help with weed control. So, 12 yards of barkdust. Yup, 12 yards. For those of you with no visual reference, a standard pickup bed usually can carry one yard. Yeah, its a huge pile. I got started yesterday and managed to spread it on the front beds that I had weeded prior to mothers day. It looks so good now! I love how barkdust makes everything look pretty :) And no, I'm not over doing it even though I'm almost 7 months now. Yes I'm careful and not lifting heavy loads etc etc...
Oh and I was pulling weeds in the strawberry patch yesterday, which is looking awesome btw, and I found a new friend! I named him Charlie. He's going to help keep the critters from eating our berries this year. He's about 18", black with two white stripes and a little bigger around than my thumb.
Okay, now I need some East Coast updates you people! Get to it!

Only 119 to go.....

I've been working on planting all my dahlia tubers for the last 10 days or so....whew....it's taking a long time. I can only plant for an hour or so before my belly starts cramping up, then I have to stop or at least take a break for a while. Normally I would just push through it and tough it out just to get the job done, hehe, yeah that doesn't work so well at six and a half months preggo. I know it'll be worth it. This is not quite half of the bags of tubers, all divided by variety. It's going to look so awesome this summer. There will be flowers all around the driveway, across the front lawn, and down the side lawn by the garden wall. It's about 320 plants :) I planned all the colors out to so it will blend red-yellow-orange-white-purple-pink, should look really cool and make it easier to harvest flowers for the bouquets.

This is the first rose bloom of the year! It's up against the house so it has a little head start on the others.

I can't remember the name of this bush, but I think the blooms are really cool!

And our wisteria is also in bloom. There are three in pots that we are training to be trees, this one needs a little attention, but the blooms are so pretty :)

It's a little hard to see, but I weeded our front walk last weekend and planted petunias on the right side. Also trimmed back the shrubs on the left and put up the hanging baskets on the posts. We're getting ready for several warm days so the petunias should start blooming soon then there will be some nice color.

26 weeks!

Yaaay! less than 100 days to go! I have to start with thank yous for all the 'soon to be' mothers day wishes. We had a fun day here. I spent the morning playing with my horsie, and a couple hours planting more dahlias. George was very sweet and helped put together a nummy dinner. He even went grocery shopping by himself for a few dinner items! It was a really great day :)

Little miss Norah is doing very well. I'm starting to feel like the belly is getting in the way now. It was a little difficult to get down on the ground to plant things this weekend. I did a little too much on Saturday and started getting some fake contractions that night, not painful just annoying. So now I'm trying to be a little more careful about planning my days so I don't over do it again. She's had hiccups a couple of times now, feels funny :) And she's getting some good kicks in. I'm gaining about a pound a week now, at this rate I might make it to 15-20lbs by the time she gets here. Oh and ha! Funny story from last night. I was on my way home from babysitting Kaylee and decided I really needed some fruit, so I stopped at the store. I was pondering strawberries when a little asian lady dropped an apple and it rolled right over to me. She came over to get and and said
'ohhhh you have boy yes?'
'Umm no actually it's a girl'
'Oh I have four boy, always very round with boy, have one girl, was very flat with girl'
'oh okay' smile?
'my boys very big boys now, big 175lb boys, eat lots of meat, my girl small, I get strawberries for her, she eat fruit'
smile? nod? walk away......
I guess I'm round now?
I'll add a picture later today, since you really don't want to see me in my pj's!
**Okay here's a pic, no comments on my chubby looking face, it's late and I didn't feel like taking pics until I got a super good one....Focus on the belly people!

I saw that...

Yup she's kicking/moving enough that I can watch my belly move, it's great :) Oh and she started getting hiccups the other day.
I'm making cookies today, there might even be some left when George gets home, no promises though.
And I have a bunch of dahlia tubers. Umm okay, does 500+ count as a bunch? A huge bunch? I'm planting about 300 of them, so if anyone would like a couple, I'll have a few left. I think we're going to try and sell some through the farm and on craigslist, but let me know you locals and I can save a few for you.

He's 10 already?

My horse Crown turned 10 years old yesterday! Wow. I remember sitting in class my sophomore year just after we brought him home thinking 'I'm 16 so when he's 10 I'll be 26!? so old....'

He is such a sweetheart. I had a hard time taking pictures since he just wanted to follow me and 'play' not stand around for a photo shoot! He's still a little shaggy from winter, but the shedding is well under way! I have to lint roll my car seats or I get white hairs on everything!

He loves to play with these barrels. He knocks them over and paws at them with his front hooves constantly when we play in the barn.

He's a little skinny this spring, we think from his bad habit of cribbing (bitting the wood and sucking in air) also, he's a slow eater and if left loose with the other horses he gets chased off his food before he's done. Now he gets locked in a stall to eat in peace. We're also trying some new tricks to stop his cribbing so he'll have teeth left when he's 20.

George's Birthday

So yesterday was George's 26th birthday. We had family over for a bbq full of yummy food! We watch the Blazers game and visited :)He wasn't really happy I was taking his picture in the morning

I forgot to take a picture of all the pretty food before everyone ate, so here's the aftermath. We had burgers with tons of toppings, tuna salad, potato salad, baked beans, chips and soda!

The boys weren't really interested in the game so the ate and played outside with Mr Ben.

Here's Uncle Allen, Grandma and KayleeGeorge opened gifts during halftime, wouldn't want to miss any of the game!I made a yummy spice cake with cream cheese frosting per the birthday boy's request, but the candles were being a little tricky, hence the look of frustration.Since the Blazers didn't win, I'm guessing his wish didn't come true!
