We will miss you

Simon 1997 - 2007
Simon was a wonderful little bird. I got him the summer before my freshman year which would have been 1997. He was about eight weeks old when we brought him home. I spent lots of time with him getting him to sit on my finger and being comfortable outside his house. This is perhaps how and why he learned his favorite words, 'pretty birdie!'. He became very sweet and social, and learn to make lots and lots of noises his first year. He loved to play with his bell and chew on paper among other things...(no really teacher, my bird ate my homework!)
He learned many different whistles, mimicked the phone ringing, laughed and said many things like pretty birdie, simon, hi!, hello, goodmorning, nightnight, what'cha doin?, come here!, peekaboo and a few I'm sure I've forgotten. He loved to 'sword fight' where he would tap his beak on your nail and puff up and chatter at you, but never ever bit you. It was very cute. He liked to sit on fingers, shoulders, heads, and even glasses if you let him.
He was the first bird in the family to pass of natural causes and therefore live to 10yrs old!
He taught Jordie some of his noises and chatter too.
He was a sweetheart and we will really miss him.
Don't want a dog? Don't want a cat? If you have some time and patience get a parakeet. They are inexpensive, easy to keep, and fun to have.

Oh I'm so sorry. It's hard to look a pet that you're so close to. How is Jordie taking it? Does he get lonely? You'll see him again in Heaven.

hmm - must have been tired and sad -- it should say 'lose' not 'look'
